grow your business and your brand then you need to make sure that you’re talking to other people about yourself because they aren’t going to come find you you have to go find them if you are at a club you know bottles and drinking It Up Normally you have like a guy come over to you and say hey baby what’s up you want to chat you might be like yeah I want to chat or you might be like get away from me you’re kind to creepy but at a networking event you can’t look at it that way you have to think okay I’m

at this party want to introduce yourself to people and meet and greet and let them know what you are about so that you can follow up with them later it’s not meant to get a ton of business right then you’re just building a relationship ship to have something later on my first tip for networking at an event for your business is to make sure that you go in with a plan if you have certain people that you want to connect with or maybe you have a question that you want to answered you want to network with those

people at the event I already have these things prepared if it’s people that you want to talk to if it’s questions that you want to have answered or maybe you want to follow up with somebody later on this may leave your mind once you get there and there’s a lot going on it may be serving drinks or food or talking you want to just have a plan of what you’re trying to get accomplished there if it’s 10 business cards or 10 connections or you want to have a videographer whatever

it is a list of that going in so one you don’t forget it what if you scored an amazing interview with someone that you’ve been looking up to or you got to chat with the keynote speaker that was on stage the first thing that you’re going to want to do is ask them a question and I can tell you that when I’ve met some really big celebrities and people influencers I’ll get up there and I’m like oh my God I love you okay so today the big day and I’m going to meet Sunny lard Dy so

the time that you’re done saying it and you don’t want to wobble about what you’re telling them that you do you’re just going to be quick to the point and you’re not going to tell them your whole life story just think about if you were on an elevator you only had 30 seconds until that elevator got to the bottom of the ground somebody said hey what do you do oh see you later you want to be able to answer that question really quickly so that you can establish a relationship get a contact and then

move on to further that relationship after the event is over tip number three is to have have business cards some events will have different ways to keep track of people but good oldfashioned business card you cannot go wrong with that if you don’t have a business card how are you going to give people your information and tell them hey follow me contact me later tell them what you do who you are hand it over and say hey it’d really be nice to follow up with you could I also get your card so maybe

giving them yours and then asking for theirs is a good way to get their information when people give you their business card back don’t just toss it in your purse or your wallet or your folder and walk off with it actually look at the business card just make a note like okay her name’s Brandy what’s a really good idea is to make notes on the business card because you’re not going to remember everything that you talked about so if you make notes on the business card at least it will give you
