How To Find Your Passion & Make Money (doing what you love)
I received a question asking me: “Hey Blogging Brandi, I’m struggling with Imposter syndrome and finding a passion, making money doing something I love! Now, I’m pressing pause on social media, my life, business, and everything! So I can figure out how to discover my passion. How do you find your passion? Find your life purpose? More specifically, can you tell me – how to find your passion and make it your job?” — Help, I need to turn my passion into profit and fulfill my Life Purpose!
My response: How to find your passion in life? Finding passion and purpose in life takes time! But, if you want to know how to find your passion and purpose in life, plus make a profit from it! You have to make moves, try something, test, fail, learn, grow, repeat so you can get a response and then decide how to know what direction to go in life, business, your job, career, etc..

I, too, have struggled with how to find my passion as a Digital Nomad and balance my RV Lifestyle, which is why I like to call myself more of a Lifestyle Blogger or Lifestyle Vlogger, should I say… And WHY I wanted to sit down to make this video and share How To Find Your Purpose, Passion, and Profit from it!

How to Find Your Direction When You Feel Lost (And Why Taking Action Matters)
I wanted to make this video in response to a message one of my members from my UnNicheMe Community sent me. They told me they’re starting out this year, trying to figure out what direction they want to go, and that they have multiple streams of income. Here’s what they sent me:
Member’s Message
“Hope you had a good Christmas and a good New Year’s and everything. I wanted to say I’m still alive, but um, I got off social media for at least 40 days. I’m going to try to quote-unquote figure out my life—I need to just figure out what I’m going to do for money and stuff and figure that out, which side I’m going to be on. Sorry, my pain level is about a six today, so I’m having trouble kind of concentrating.
So I just wanted to tell you that I am doing a 40-day social media fast and a prayer fast that I’m doing with my church. I’m just extending it a little bit longer because I really need to concentrate on some things in my life, kind of figure out the direction that I’m wanting to go. And Brandi, I know, I know you’re going to help me with kind of what direction, and that’s kind of what we’ve started.
I’m also trying to find a new doctor. I’ve been working delivery from about 7:00 till about 3:00 in the afternoon, then I come home and we have an hour of Bible time. By then, I’m just—I’m wiped out. I’m still here taking a little breather, but during that breather, Brandi, I do want to talk to you about maybe where I want to go with everything—if it’s going to be Amazon or Etsy or something like that.
But I’m really trying to focus right now on just being away from social media so I can stop having impostor syndrome and focus on what my purpose is. So I’m really concentrating on all that, and I think it’s going to help me in the end.
We got a cheaper apartment that we’ll move into in April, so that’s good. That’s going to save us $700 a month. I also did a thing on Medium, and that’s something else I’m going through. If you want to look at my Medium, I love you, bye.”
What This Means
They’re basically starting out this year, trying to find direction. They’re doing a 40-day social media fast, juggling multiple income streams, fitting in time with God and Bible reading, and dealing with imposter syndrome.
If you don’t know, impostor syndrome means feeling like a fraud. You struggle to take action because you worry about what people think of you.
When I say UnNicheMe, my community is for people figuring out their purpose—who they want to be and what they were put on this Earth to accomplish. I struggle with this too.
Downsizing, Budgeting, and Lifestyle Changes
They also talked about saving money, downsizing, and making moves in their life. Originally, they wanted to live the RV life but ended up in an apartment. Their finances shifted, priorities changed, and so did their lifestyle.
I was really happy to hear they were saving money. They even started blogging on Medium.com—which is free to start, and you can get paid by joining their partner program. I’m not getting paid to say this, but I have a secret blog on Medium myself.
Social Media and Calls to Action
If you follow me, you probably have social media, right? So if you feel like you need a social media fast, here’s how I handle social media:
- I use social media strictly for business.
- I post personal things, like about my dogs or RV, but it always leads to a call to action—like signing up for a course, joining my community, buying my book, or subscribing to my email list.
- Even this video has a call to action: I hope you’ll become part of my UnNicheMe community, subscribe to my YouTube channel, like this video, and tap the bell icon to get notified when I publish more.
I share my life and who I am to get people to take action.
Social Media Fasting—Is It Right for You?
Maybe you want to fast from social media. For me, if I took off social media completely, my business would suffer.
Taking a break might mean:
- Not commenting daily,
- Posting once a week,
- Scheduling posts in advance so no one notices you’re “offline.”
I do this all the time. In fact, taking time off makes me more money!
Content Strategy and Capturing Your Story
The person who sent me that message is actually really good at posting content. But I think the issue is:
- They might not have a clear call to action.
- They post just updates, without a next step for their audience.
- They may be posting in real time instead of capturing content to post later.
You can always be collecting and saving content. I call it BCS—Be Capturing Stuff.
My Journey with Content Creation
Last year, I went on trips to Cuba, Jamaica, the Bahamas, and Puerto Rico—stuff I haven’t even shared yet. I adopted three dogs in one year and started a dog rescue.
I relaunched Blogging Brandi (misspelled at first, ha!) and I’m literally dragging followers from one profile to another.
I wish I had just rebranded myself instead of trying to start from zero again.
On Impostor Syndrome and Starting From Zero
When I started, I had zero followers. About a year ago, I was starting from scratch on my new YouTube channel.
Someone even commented once when I followed them, “Oh, you only have 50 followers!” No joke. 🙄
But if you look at all my platforms, I have thousands of followers in total.
I made mistakes, yes, but I kept going.
Branding and Business Lessons
I created a course called RVing for Bosses—teaching people how to brand themselves online, build email lists, logos, websites, blogs, and promote themselves.
The downside: I called it “RVing for Bosses,” but it’s about much more than just RV life.
I wish I had named it something broader.
My Advice for You
If you feel like a fraud or that everything has to be perfect, remember:
- I used to feel I needed full makeup and perfect lighting before making videos.
- Life has been crazy—my dog got super sick, my mom broke her foot, my grandma’s been in the hospital.
- If I waited for perfect moments, I wouldn’t be making this for you right now.
What Is UnNicheMe?
At the end of last year, I started UnNicheMe—a community for multi-passionate people who want multiple income streams.
People tell me, “I don’t know what to do with my businesses or social media profiles.” I’ve been there.
I spent a year building this space where I bring all my projects together in one place.
The Reality of Doing All the Things
I have courses, books, merchandise, a website for my RV life, dog rescue, Blogging Brandi, and more.
Yes, it’s a lot!

Taking Breaks Without Pressing Pause
I’m not saying don’t take breaks. I do!
But I take controlled breaks—like a week or a weekend off.
I don’t do long “pause” periods of 30+ days because it messes up momentum.
Even today, my boyfriend and I broke our “go to gym” New Year’s resolution — no guilt there!
Finding Your Direction
Maybe a social media fast is what you need.
Or maybe decluttering your life and removing distractions is the key.
Taking time with God helps me recharge. I’m an introvert, so I need that.
Try, Track, and Evaluate
You won’t know what works until you try.
While trying things, watch what actually makes money and what drains your time.
You can write a book for free on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing.
You can create merchandise on Printful—no inventory needed—and sell mugs, t-shirts, whatever you want.
Promotion Is Everything
You can create all the things, but if you don’t promote them or build followers, it won’t matter.
Most of my followers came organically because I focus on real connections.
What’s Next for Blogging Brandi?
I’m super excited to keep sharing my journey.
UnNicheMe is still growing. It’s not perfect, and it won’t grow if no one joins and gives me feedback.
Don’t wait for perfection—get your ideas out, throw spaghetti at the wall, and see what sticks.
