20+ Remote Job Ideas for Digital Nomads (You Can Do From Anywhere, working from home or while you roam…)

So today I’m going to be sharing with you over 20 work-from-home remote jobs and ideas for RV digital nomads to be able to work from your computer online from anywhere — or, if you’re like me, from your RV.

In the last video, I shared with you four ways that you can make money online in your spare time. And these were ways that you could work from home or if you just wanted to make some quick cash and generate some extra income. These were not full-time remote working gigs.

But I do get a lot of calls and texts and emails and comments of people asking me:

“Hey Brandi, how do you work from home and make money online and find like a remote job or some part-time gigs versus full-time gigs? Where do you actually go to look for these?”

Where to Find Actual Remote Jobs Online

So in this video, I wanted to share with you where you can find actual remote work-from-home jobs and places that I’ve looked over the eight years that I’ve been a digital nomad — both when I was looking for work online, whether it be full-time or part-time (which part-time kind of led to more part-time and then full-time)…

But where I looked — and then also once I became a business owner — where I posted to find remote workers, especially those who had professional skills.

I’ve hired people for:

  • Video editing
  • Graphic design
  • Helping me with spreadsheets
  • Virtual assisting

You can find all kinds of jobs if you have a profession or some kind of skill. There’s a remote job for you online doing something — because I think most people get stuck on where do you actually find these remote jobs?

And the best place to find online work is obviously online — on your computer.

But it takes work to find work. And it should be something that you treat kind of like your job. Like if you were on a job from nine to five, you should be looking for remote work from nine to five.

So again, it takes work to find work. But if you really want to find that dream job — don’t you worry — I am going to teach you that in this video!

🔎 Remote Job Boards & Online Job Platforms

So the first place that I would look for remote work online — and I’ve broken this down into four categories. The first 13 are actual online remote work jobs or job boards — places to find online jobs.

  1. RVer Job Exchange “Remote Work”: A platform offering a variety of remote work opportunities.
  2. Zip Recruiter: A widely recognized job board with numerous remote job listings.
  3. Flex Jobs: A well-known site specializing in remote and flexible job opportunities.
  4. LinkedIn “Jobs”: Often underrated for job searches, LinkedIn is an excellent resource. Many employers allow you to apply using your LinkedIn profile, so ensure it’s updated and complete. You can also directly search for remote jobs on LinkedIn.
  5. Dynamite Jobs: A great resource for finding remote work.
  6. Remote OK: A popular platform for remote job listings.
  7. Jobspresso: Another reliable site for remote job searches.
  8. Working Nomads: Specializes in jobs for digital nomads.
  9. We Work Remotely: A well-known site with a vast array of remote job opportunities.
  10. Remote Co: Offers a variety of remote job listings.
  11. Skip The Drive: Focuses on remote job opportunities across various fields.
  12. Remoters: A site dedicated to remote work positions.
  13. Workew: Provides numerous remote job listings.

That’s 13 websites alone where you can find remote or work-from-home jobs. You can do these whether you’re RV living on the road or at home, or in an Airbnb or hotel or wherever you might be.

If you have skills — look for jobs on these websites. These are going to be full-time type gigs. If you’re thinking you’d be looking for a job in a building — these are just jobs that you do from home on your computer.

💼 Freelance, Contract, and Gig Work

The next set of recommendations falls into three categories: freelance jobs, contract jobs, and gigs. These opportunities are perfect for those seeking part-time, project-based work rather than full-time positions.

Just for instance, if you wanted to write or if you were just looking for a virtual assistant gig — not a full-time job, but something part-time to help someone out.

So maybe you just take on a project here for this company, and a project over there for another company — but you’re not working for one company per se.

Not saying those little part-time gigs can’t turn into full-time gigs — because a lot of times people are looking for those smaller part-time jobs and then ask,

“Hey, can you do some more work for me?”

It’s kind of a nice way to do a little test run with people.

I’ve done this for:

  • Video editing
  • Spreadsheets
  • Virtual assisting
  • Blog post editing
  • Accounting & bookkeeping

I’ve found people for so many things on these websites.

And even when I was getting started, I posted myself on here to try to find jobs, too. I’ve even had people build websites for me!

  1. RVer Job Exchange (Freelance Section): This platform has a dedicated section for freelance work, making it a versatile option.
  2. Fiverr: Known for its $5 gigs, Fiverr also offers higher-paying opportunities, including Fiverr Pro, where experienced freelancers can charge premium rates. It’s an excellent platform to build your portfolio and gain client reviews. — great for starting out cheap, then raising rates with reviews.
  3. UpWork: A popular site for freelancers, offering a wide range of job categories from virtual assistance to web development. It also handles payment transactions, making it secure for both freelancers and clients. — good for VAs, freelancers, designers, etc.
  4. Freelancer: As the name suggests, this site focuses on freelance work across various fields. It’s a good place to find diverse project-based jobs.
  5. ProBlogger: Ideal for writers, Pro Blogger offers writing gigs that often require candidates to have blogging experience. It’s a great platform for finding specialized writing jobs, even in technical fields like mechanical engineering. — perfect for writers or those already blogging

These platforms are excellent starting points for finding part-time and freelance work. They allow you to take on small projects for different companies, which can sometimes lead to more extensive, long-term work.

Using these platforms, you can showcase your skills and potentially convert part-time gigs into full-time opportunities. They also provide a way to build client relationships and expand your professional network.

Just remember that while these platforms often discourage taking clients off their system, they offer secure payment options and can help manage your transactions efficiently.

🏢 Specific Remote Companies That Hire

These companies provide various remote work opportunities, from transcription and tutoring to customer service, allowing you to find a role that fits your skills and schedule. Here are four specific companies that are actively hiring remote workers:

  1. Amazon “Virtual Locations”: Amazon offers various remote positions through its Virtual Locations program. Unlike Amazon Mechanical Turk, which offers micro-tasks for quick cash, Virtual Locations provides full-time roles, such as customer service positions.
  2. Belay: Belay hires remote workers for various online jobs. Many RVers work for this company, taking on roles that match their skills. You apply, and Belay assesses whether you are a good fit for their team.
  3. Rev.com: This transcription service pays people to transcribe audio and video files. While Rev uses AI for automated transcriptions, they also rely on human transcribers for accuracy. Rates can range from 30 to 60 cents per minute, and those proficient in foreign languages can earn even more.
  4. PrePly: Preply is a platform where teachers and tutors can offer their services, especially in foreign languages. It’s an excellent opportunity for educators to conduct remote tutoring sessions.

🤝 Peer-to-Peer, Naming, Branding & Creative Work

The fourth category of ways to make money online covers Other Remote Jobs, Work-From-Home Jobs & Opportunities. These platforms offer more diverse opportunities for remote work, from naming and branding to graphic design, catering to a wide range of skills and interests. For those seeking remote work opportunities, especially RV digital nomads, here are some additional ways to make money from home:

  1. RVer Job Exchange (Peer to Peer): This platform offers a variety of ways to earn money, including remote work, freelance jobs, bartering and peer-to-peer opportunities. It’s a great starting point for anyone looking to utilize their skills and find flexible work options.
  2. Naming Force: If you have a knack for coming up with names and taglines, Naming Force is a fun platform where you can earn money by submitting winning names for companies. — get paid to come up with names (I love this one!)
  3. Brand New Name: Another branding and naming website where you can get paid for your creative naming ideas.
  4. SquadHelp: A platform similar to Naming Force, allowing you to participate in naming contests and get paid if your entry is selected. – branding and naming competitions
  5. 48 HoursLogo: A site where designers can create logos in a competitive setting. Winning designs earn a cash prize.
  6. 99 Designs: A popular site for graphic designers to compete in design contests or find freelance design projects. It’s a great way to showcase your creativity and earn money.
