If you’re anything like me, noise can feel overwhelming. Here’s my list of Noise Sensitivity Solutions, aka quiet time essentials, for anyone who needs a little less noise and a lot more peace.

Whether it’s the constant hum of a TV, the deep rumble of bass, or constant chatter can be too much sensory input, leaving introverts and those with anxiety feeling drained.

For years, I thought something was wrong with me because I just couldn’t “tune it out” like everyone else seemed to. But here’s the truth: nothing is wrong with us. If you’re an introvert, highly sensitive, or someone who struggles with anxiety, you know how exhausting noise can be. Some of us simply need quiet to feel calm, recharge, and function at our best. And that’s okay.

Over the years, I’ve discovered a few “must-haves” that help me create a calm, peaceful environment where I can truly recharge. I’ve built my own little emergency kit of essential products for introverts and anxiety relief tools. These are the exact things I reach for when the world feels too loud. Hopefully, they’ll help you the way they’ve helped me.


✅ Loop Ear Plugs for Noise Sensitivity

When life gets noisy, these are my first line of defense. These stylish earplugs are a lifesaver when the world feels too loud. For me, they’re perfect for tuning out background chatter without feeling cut off from reality.

I wear them in crowded places, while traveling, or even around family when I need to soften the background noise.


✅ Sound Machine for Sleep & Anxiety

Nothing drowns out distracting noise better than a soothing sound machine. Whether it’s ocean waves, rain, or plain white noise, it creates a buffer that helps my brain relax.

Bonus: It also helps with sleep on restless nights. A sound machine for anxiety and sleep has been a game-changer for me; it masks the unwanted noise that keeps my mind on edge. It’s also the only way I can fall asleep in noisy environments. Also, helps to drown out the snooring from my spouse! Even the animals find peace for their paws to sleep through all the nosiness, too!

True Story: No matter where I’m working and sleeping at there are noises that drive me crazy, keep me awake, or from getting things done. In the city, it’s either a noisy neighbor or a rooftop patio club going on until 2am almost every night! OR at the Trailer Park in the RV, it’s actually louder than the city since we live next to a factory that is open 24/7 with constant shift changes and LOUD music from the passing cars.

I use my sound machine both during the day and at night! I have one in the RV and one at the condo in the city!

This might sound simple, but fans are one of my daily essentials. They are the unsung heroes of quiet living. Not only do they keep the air moving and the room comfortable, but that steady hum doubles as natural white noise.

If you’re not ready to invest in a sound machine, a fan is a budget-friendly solution that works just as well. It’s simple, affordable, and effective.


✅ Weighted Anxiety Jacket

Noise is just part of the bigger picture of anxiety. Sometimes, anxiety isn’t just about noise—it’s about feeling grounded.

That’s where weighted anxiety relief jackets or cloaks come in — they provide deep pressure therapy that instantly calms the nervous system. It’s like a reassuring hug without needing to explain yourself to anyone. On stressful days, this has been one of the most grounding tools I own.

True Story:

I have MAJOR Airport and Flight Anxiety. It’s more about the people and process than the plane having any problems. I get extremely stressed out when it comes to flying, hence another reason I have an RV!

This little gadget is amazing! The Embr Wave Cooling and Warming Wristband is like a secret anxiety relief hack. It lets me control my personal temperature—hot or cold—with just a tap. Cooling me down when I feel overwhelmed or giving me warmth when I need comfort.

It’s mainly made for menopause and hot flash relief, but I’ve found it useful for minimizing anxiety and stress symptoms too! It may sound small, but feeling physically comfortable is a big part of reducing anxiety. It’s not cheap, but it’s been worth every penny for the relief it gives me.


✅ Calming Drink Products (for Stress, Sleep, Anxiety Relief)

From The Calming Co: U-Relax and U-Sleep Calming Tonics for Day and Night. They are premeasured packs, and I just mix them with water — then sip sip horray! I’m NOT joking, these little concoctions can have you feeling fuzzy or REAL relaxed at times. I’ve even gotten a little woozy drinking them.

But they do help with relaxing you and are best without food. Although eating might help with the side effects of feeling nauseous — I’d just eat before drinking. Food seems to lessen the effects.

✅ My Golden Rule: No TV, No Loud Noise, No Bass 🔇

My final must-have isn’t a product you can buy—it’s a boundary. I’ve learned I need to protect my peace. That means no blaring TV in the background, no loud noise for the sake of “energy,” and absolutely no bass shaking the walls.

And if I cannot control the noise in my environment or reduce it with some of these tools and tips, then I will RUN AWAY, GET OUT, go somewhere else for the sake of myself. Setting these rules has been one of the best anxiety management tools I’ve ever created for myself.

Being an introvert with anxiety in a noisy world isn’t easy. But with the right tools—and the right boundaries—you can create a peaceful environment where your nervous system feels safe.
